A Day at the Beach

What do you do when you're up at 2:53 am on pain meds after your tonsillectomy?  You right a blog post that's been stuck in your head, of course!

Who wouldn't love to spend a day at the beach?  Even when that said beach is 266 miles away.  Oh. No?  Well, you should.  It turned out to be one of the day's that our family will always remember.  Was it convenient or ideal?  Of course not, but sometimes you've just gotta ignore the logical and make your babies' wishes come true!  Sydney had a Summer Bucket List (Thank you Trinity Christian School), and we were getting close to the end of summer without doing a single one of them.  At the beginning of the summer, her list didn't look too complicated 1) Go to the beach, 2) Get a pet fish, and 3) Catch a Fish.  However, come July 25, we had accomplished ZERO of those items!

We started the summer with a week long beach trip planned.  I had the whole week off work.  We were planning to spend July 4th week with Ben's family at the beach.  After a series of unfortunate events happened, that did not happen.  So here we were with ONE day left in the entire summer that we could go to the beach.  So at 4:50 am, we loaded our minivan with lots of supplies and lots of kids our three kids, and we headed to Panama City Beach, Florida.  It was an amazing day spent by the ocean and at The Miracle Strip.  I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking, ya'll:
And, We're Off!  These two alert crazies in my back
seat stayed this awake the whole.ride.there!
Twins?  Maybe!
This girl didn't have time to acclimate to the surf.
No worries, she was diving into the waves by the end!
The crazy cutie was just a little afraid of the waves and the water,
but he was quite content under the umbrella with a snack!
5 pm and on our way home.  9 hours of driving for
8 hours at the beach was SO worth it!  Thanks babe
for making this happen for us!  (In case you
are worried, Sydney is back there!)

Disclaimer:  In the event you find many grammatical or formatting errors, it is 3:12 and I am less than 24 hours post-op on pain meds, be very forgiving!  :)
