So.. I am completely over it. I feel like as soon as I joined in the craze of couponing, so did the rest of the world. And the stores caught on-- and they changed all of their rules. All of the loop holes that were getting me so much free stuff (and even making me money!) are gone. @ Jenny- from Southern Savers, I need a new class. Most of what you told me isn't working anymore!! I don't have time to "screen" cashiers to see who MIGHT let me get my way! I have still learned a lot, and will still use coupons. I just won't let it consume near the amount of time it has lately- only to get in line to be told "Oh, you can't do that. Read our policy. Yes, we changed it." Ugh! I will still use coupons, and I will still only buy things at their rock-bottom prices, but I won't spend hours on Saturday night strategizing my Sunday morning shopping trip that has not panned out lately!
I did, however, get a 27 count pack of Pampers tonight and a pack of stickers for Sydney for $1.75. Very exciting!!
We are attempting to save much more money by eating at home. We are attempting to eat dinner at home at least 5 days a week. To some, this may seem like a normal week in your house. In ours, this is a BIG deal!
I am with you on couponing! I "gave it up" which really meant just surfing for random coupons and using it on stuff I need and it has made me much happier than getting stressed out planning only to be told "no" by a grumpy cashier. On the eating at home we are doing the same thing! Which usually means now we eat at home all week and the weekend we eat out. Maybe we should start a blog for it! I get tired of eating the same things over and over so now I am on a kick where at least once or twice a week I try a new recipe!
